After waking up to a puddle on the floor in front of my dishwasher I wasn't sure where to start. I was referred to Masters of Disaster who arrived promptly, surveyed the damage and jumped into action. Their remediation crew got started right away and while they were working, their reconstruction team was coming up with a plan. They handled all the interface with my insurance company (Country Financial, who were a dream to work with and I can't recommend them enough). The subcontractors Masters chose we're top notch. They delivered a beautiful kitchen on time and on budget. If ever I were in need again I would not hesitate to make Masters my first call.

We recommend Masters of Disaster for home mitigation and restoration if your home is damaged. They are responsive, honest, and do quality work. Handling a home disaster is a really hard situation to be in. There’s a lot you'll need to learn quickly, including about who does the work on your home. We’ll explain some here, but at the end of the day, we recommend Masters of Disaster. As we (now) understand, there are 2 phases to a home disaster: 1) Mitigation (cleaning up what happened and preparing to rebuild), and 2) Restoration (basically rebuilding, ostensibly to make it as it was before, though many people apply insurance funds to make an upgrade and pay the difference out of pocket). The company that does Mitigation can be different from the company that does Restoration, though some companies like Masters of Disaster do both. A benefit of working with a company like Masters is that they work regularly with local insurance field agents so they know when and how to request additional money, which is a task that may otherwise fall to you as the homeowner if your builder isn’t willing to do that. In our case, the hot water pipe supplying both of our bathrooms cracked while we were away, requiring both bathrooms and one side of the house be stripped to the studs and rebuilt. The staff at Masters - Nikolay, Steve, Morgan, Dan, Ilya and others were all friendly and answered our questions along the way. We’ve been back in our house for 3 months now and are very pleased with the final product that Masters and the subcontractors created. And when we had issues that arose about scheduling, building details, communication with subcontractors, or billing, Masters pleasantly and responsively worked through them with us, which is a *huge* benefit when working on a complex project. And, they took great care during all phases to keep the house clean and avoid scratching or damaging anything not affected by the water. The one thing we may advise others in this position about working with a restoration company like Masters (vs a new-build or remodeling contractor) is that most of the work is done by subcontractors, which slows the work down compared to if a single outfit handled most of the work, and it requires a lot of attention to detail by the project manager to coordinate each subcontractor who is coming in to do just their piece of the puzzle. Now, in any home project, the homeowner needs to be involved to make sure it is being built according to their wishes, but this seems especially true when most of the work is being done by subs. Every sub we met through Masters produced quality work, and we were reassured throughout by Masters’ responsiveness and communication. And, we are thrilled with the final product.

A bad situation was made much better after dealing with Tyler, Jackson, Sara, and Peter. The work was done in a very professional way including attention to the clean up. We had no clue what to do when our dishwasher leaked and water flowed out under our flooring, and was dripping from the ceiling to the rooms below. But after reading some recommendations on Masters of Disaster, we gave these folks a call. They showed up the same day, and we felt like we instantly had some “friends” in the business. It’s never easy dealing with repairs while also living in one’s home, yet these guys made the very best of the situation. They were always courteous, communicated very well, and followed through with excellence. They explained how they would work with our insurance company as well, which was such a relief! Masters of Disaster are working on water damage to a part of my home. The employee, Iliya, has been very professional and is a hard worker. He explains each step of the mitigation process in full detail. He is very kind and his work is exceptional! Now that the mitigation part is completed they will be moving forward with the restoration process. All of the employees working on my home have been very nice, have done really good work and are professional. One of the owners, Lorin, has come to my home numerous times to follow up on the process. He is kind and professional. I can't say enough about the Masters of Disaster team - they are all very professional and do a great job! I highly recommend this restoration company.
